Bodelwyddan Castle

Bodelwyddan Castle is home to several important national treasures, supplied by the National Portrait Gallery, the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Royal Academy of Arts. The Castle underwent an extensive £2.5m refurbishment to restore it to its former Victorian splendour. Repairs were necessary to the external fabric of the building. These included new slate roofs, stonework restoration, and the replacement and refurbishment of windows and doors.

St Hilary’s Terrace & Leicester Terrace: Value £1.2m

Initiated by Denbigh Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI), this scheme offered homeowners living in the conservation area grant funding to carry out external improvements to their properties. Lying in the shadow of Denbigh’s historic castle, St. Hilary’s Terrace and Leicester Terrace have undergone external enveloping works.

Ty’n Rhyl: Value £150k

The renovation of Ty’n Rhyl (the oldest house in Rhyl – dating back to 1672) was carried out in association with the South West Rhyl Area Group Renewal Scheme and required close liaison with the owners, the conservation architect and Denbighshire County Council.
