The new Ysgol yr Hendre is located at Cae Phillips and is set to deliver the very best learning environment for up to 450 pupils and provide a genuine focus for the local community. Wynne Construction completed the £9.3m design and build contract for Gwynedd County Council in February 2012, as part of the new 21st century school programme.

The new building incorporates the latest green technology and has facilities for delivering adult education, health and social welfare initiatives as well as cultural and sporting activities.

This new school has been funded with the help of a £4.3 million Strategic Capital Investment Framework grant from the Welsh Assembly Government and is one of the first of many exciting school building projects which Gwynedd County Council aims to deliver over the coming years. As well as providing a fitting new school for one of Wales' most disadvantaged areas, the new Ysgol yr Hendre will also provide a valuable resource for the local community and a base from which to deliver a range of services for local people.
