The new Ysgol yr Hendre is located at Cae Phillips and is set to deliver the very best learning environment for up to 450 pupils and provide a genuine focus for the local community. Wynne Construction completed the £9.3m design and build contract for Gwynedd County Council in February 2012, as part of the new 21st century school programme.

The building was developed from Conwy EDS's proposals and was designed to create a minimal visual impact on its surroundings. A fair faced coloured block was chosen to the lower levels, with the upper levels completed in insulated colour coated cladding. A dramatic aluminium arched roof completes the envelope and incorporates special aerofoil sections at the eaves to provide a soft edge against the hillside.
