Y Bala 3-19 Learning Campus, Bala

Wynne Construction has been appointed by Gwynedd Council to refurbish and build the new £10m 3-19 Learning Campus in Bala. The joint investment of £10 million, by Gwynedd Council and the Welsh Government, as part of the 21st Century Schools and Education Programme, will ensure that the area's children are taught on a site that provides a modern suitable learning environment for the 21st century as well as protecting the long-term future of post-16 education and the rural schools within the catchment-area.

Ysgol Rhyd Y Llan; Llanfaethlu

Wynne Construction has been appointed by Anglesey County Council to build the new area school Ysgol Rhyd Y Llan, in the village of Llanfaethlu. The £4.5m project will replace the three existing schools of Ysgol Llanfachraeth, Ysgol Ffrwd Win and Ysgol Cylch Y Garn.

Ysgol Glancegin, Maesgeirchen: Bangor

Wynne Construction has been appointed by Gwynedd Council to build the new Ysgol Glancegin school, in Maesgeirchen, Bangor. The £5m new school will replace the existing Ysgol Glancegin, which has 230 pupils and the project includes extensive landscaping of the school grounds and a new outdoor play and educational area along with the demolition of the existing building.

Ysgol Cybi: Holyhead

Wynne Construction has been appointed by Anglesey County Council to design and build a new primary school, situated at the existing Ysgol Cybi site in Holyhead. The project includes a new two-storey development and the refurbishment of the existing listed Cybi building.

Wynne Construction has been appointed by Denbighshire County Council to build a new extension and refurbishment of Ysgol Twm O'r Nant in Denbigh. The £1.4m school project will deliver a new multi-use hall, three new classrooms and improvements to the reception area, office and staff room.

Ysgol yr Hendre: Caernarfon

The new Ysgol yr Hendre is located at Cae Phillips and is set to deliver the very best learning environment for up to 450 pupils and provide a genuine focus for the local community. Wynne Construction completed the £9.3m design and build contract for Gwynedd County Council in February 2012, as part of the new 21st century school programme.

Ysgol Bryn Elian, Colwyn Bay

The building was developed from Conwy EDS's proposals and was designed to create a minimal visual impact on its surroundings. A fair faced coloured block was chosen to the lower levels, with the upper levels completed in insulated colour coated cladding. A dramatic aluminium arched roof completes the envelope and incorporates special aerofoil sections at the eaves to provide a soft edge against the hillside.

The project involved the construction of a two storey extension to Glan Y Môr secondary school in Pwllheli together with remodeling within the existing building. The £2.4m refurbishment was part of a scheme to enhance and extend a number of schools in Gwynedd County.

The design of the school was undertaken by Flintshire County Council Design Consultancy and the contract procured through a single construction partnering arrangement.

Anglesey County Council took the decision to relocate an existing primary school from a busy industrial estate to a Greenfield site on the outskirts of Llangefni. The Education Department also decided to build the very first 'green' school on Anglesey and create a landmark development in both design and construction.
