Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory - Glan Clwyd Hospital

Wynne Construction has recently completed the development of a new, purpose built Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and an extension to the Education Centre at Glan Clwyd Hospital. The unit will provide a complete diagnostic service to heart patients across North Wales, saving them the additional stress of having to travel to Liverpool or Manchester for their diagnosis.

Chris Wynne for Wynne Construction said, "Following the completion of the project, we took steps to return the goodwill the Hospital provides to so many patients and families. We have developed a garden and seating area surrounding the unit that will provide an area of quiet reflection for patients, families and staff. We wanted to offer the Hospital something in recognition of our partnership that would benefit both staff and patients. We developed the open garden idea, of which we have previous experience in creating, as somewhere the Hospital and local community could make beneficial use of. We have also agreed to maintain the area, which will save the Hospital any ongoing costs."

The garden celebrates the success of the project for both parties and, to mark the event, an inscribed slate plaque has been set into one of the rock features in the garden. Gren Kershaw, Chief Executive of Conwy & Denbighshire NHS Trust said: "We are extremely grateful to Wynne Construction for this kind gesture, which I'm sure will be enjoyed by many who visit the Hospital. It shows a tangible way that business can benefit their local hospitals and will save the Trust several thousands of pounds in its provision and maintenance."
