Wynne Construction has been awarded a £1.5m contract from Denbighshire County Council for the refurbishment of the Royal International Pavilion in Llangollen, an iconic building in Wales with a reputation worldwide for hosting music and festivals. The Pavilion is a year-round events, festival and conference venue, as well as being home of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.
The refurbishment involves the replacement of the fabric roof covering the main events area (auditorium) and steelwork refurbishment to the main lattice arch supporting the fabric roof. Internal alterations and improvements, installation of new stage, associated specialist stage lighting, mechanical & electrical installations and constructing new entrance and upgrading of car parking areas.
Chris Wynne, Managing Director comments: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract by Denbighshire County Council. The Pavilion is a landmark building in Llangollen and with the popularity of events held at the venue, the work needs to be carried out in a relatively short time period - between the Thousands of Christmas Voices Service in December 2009 and the 2010 Royal International Musical Eisteddfod".
