Sailing Academy - Community Fund Launch Wynne Construction is offering community funds for groups in Pwllheli and surrounding area

Community groups close to the new Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre in Pwllheli, Gwynedd are being offer the chance to bid for much-needed funding via the main contractor Wynne Construction.

Wynne Construction is building the new Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre and has set up a £3,000 Community Grant Fund to support community projects operating in Pwllheli and the surrounding area. The National Sailing Academy and Events Centre at Pwllheli is a £8.9 million project, which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and Gwynedd Council.

Chris Wynne, Managing Director, Wynne Construction said: "We are very proud to be associated with the construction of the sailing academy and I hope through establishing this grant fund, it will contribute in a positive way to the community life in the area".

Gwynedd Council's Economy and Regeneration Department will administer the grant - applications for a value of up to £500 will be accepted. The closing date for receiving applications is 22nd May 2015.

The Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre building will be a multi-functional centre open to all that will consist of a main hall for sailing and community uses, training and educational rooms and catering facilities. It will provide excellent on-land facilities, in an iconic building, to complement the world class sailing waters in Cardigan Bay.

Wynne Construction yn cynnig cronfa gymunedol ar gyfer grwpiau ym Mhwllheli a'r cyffiniau

Yn sgil datblygiad Academi Hwylio Genedlaethol a Chanolfan Ddigwyddiadau Pwllheli mae cynnig i grwpiau cymunedol yr ardal gael cyfle i wneud cais am gyllid drwy gyfrwng y prif gontractwr Wynne Construction.

Wynne Construction sydd yn adeiladu yr Academi Hwylio Genedlaethol a Chanolfan Digwyddiadau newydd ac mae wedi sefydlu Cronfa Grantiau Cymunedol o £3,000 i gefnogi prosiectau cymunedol sy'n gweithredu ym Mhwllheli a'r cyffiniau. Mae'r Academi Hwylio Genedlaethol a Chanolfan Ddigwyddiadau yn gynllun gwerth £8.9 miliwn, wedi ei ariannuín rhannol gan Gronfa Datblygu Lleol Ewropeaidd drwy Lywodraeth Cymru a Chyngor Gwynedd.

Dywedodd Chris Wynne, Rheolwr Gyfarwyddwr Wynne Construction: "Rydym yn falch iawn o fod yn gysylltiedig gyda adeiladu'r academi hwylio a rwy'n gobeithio drwy sefydlu cronfa grant hwn, y byddwn yn cyfrannu mewn modd cadarnhaol i fywyd cymunedol yn yr ardal".

Bydd Adran Economi a Chymuned, Cyngor Gwynedd yn gweinyddu'r grant gyda cyfle i ymgeisio am hyd at £500. Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer derbyn ceisiadau yw 22 Mai, 2015.
